Jesus And Me

 Ages 0 to 3  4 yrs to 6th grade  7th & 8th grade  Senior High

 

 

Trinity Lutheran Church activates the Jesus And Me (Sunday School) children's faith by using the Spark curriculum. It is a Bible-centered curriculum built on traditional Christian values.

Pre-Kindergarteners receive a Spark Story Bible and use it through 2nd grade. The Spark Story Bible is filled with colorful artwork of 150 stories from the Old and New Testament. The Spark Story Bible has simple text that children enjoy reading and following along with as someone reads to them. The children explore God's Word through a variety of activities to accommodate all the different interests and ways children learn.

Children in grades 3 through 6 use the Spark Bible. The Spark Bible has stickers the children can use to mark their Bible stories. The Bible also has definitions, facts, trivia and questions to help children think about their faith.

 

From the Board

The board of education is looking forward to another year of faith work! One of the new things about this year is that we will have a core of perhaps eight 7th and 8th grade confirmation students who come already introduced to each of the Spark bible sessions. They will add a "spark" to the morning.

A few Thoughts:

  • First of all, Thank You to all of the adults who have already stepped forward and committed to the teaching of our children! Your prayerful service to the congregation through the teaching of the bible stories to our youngest believers is a great gift!
  • We will begin Jesus And Me at 9:30 a.m. sharp! On September 15th, Rally Sunday, we will complete registration of our children and help them find their rooms, meet their teachers, get ready to become a flock of sheep as a fun part of the parade/opening that will carry into the 10:30 a.m. service
  • We want our children to be a part of worship. Whether they attend the opening 15 minutes of the 9:15 a.m. service before Jesus And Me or whether they worship with their parent(s) at the 10:45 a.m. service afterJesus And Me is over, children must see in their parents willingness to participate in worshipping God, too.
  • Lastly, with our still new to us Spark! Curriculum and bibles, the take home full color sheets and sometimes symbols and crafts that the child brings home from Jesus And Me will be a starting point for kitchen and bedtime visits between parents and child.
